Meth addiction can pose severe health issues, including meth mouth, and tear down your closest connections - but you're not alone. Here's how we treat meth addiction at The Edge.

Meth addiction is a chronic condition characterized by the compulsive use of methamphetamine, a powerful and highly addictive stimulant. Symptoms of meth addiction include increased energy and activity, decreased appetite, rapid weight loss, paranoia, and severe dental problems, and without early intervention, it can lead to severe health issues alongside damaged relationships, career, and more.

Despite these dangers, there’s no need to lose hope. With professional support and your commitment to the process, you can rebuild a life with meaning and purpose – but it all starts with YOU.

How Common Is Meth Addiction?

Methamphetamine addiction is a significant issue in the U.S. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), in 2021, about 0.6% of individuals aged 12 or older, which translates to roughly 1.6 million people, had a methamphetamine use disorder. Additionally, around 2.5 million people reported using methamphetamine in the past year.

Our Treatment Approach

At The Edge, our mission is to guide those in recovery toward long-term sobriety, and support you as you rebuild a purposeful life. We do this in several ways, from connecting you with detox and sober living services to our outpatient program in Santa Ana, CA.

Here’s how we approach treatment for meth addiction:

Detox

Starting your recovery journey with a safe and effective detox is crucial. We can connect you with a trusted detox facility near you, to ensure your safety during the initial stages of treatment. These centers provide medical supervision and support to help you manage withdrawal symptoms and prepare for the next steps in your recovery.

Outpatient Treatment

Our outpatient treatment program offers flexible and comprehensive care tailored to your needs. You’ll participate in therapy sessions, group counseling, and educational workshops designed to help you understand and overcome meth addiction. This approach allows you to maintain your daily responsibilities while receiving the support you need.

Sober Living Connections

A stable and supportive living environment is essential for long-term recovery. We have strong connections with reputable sober living homes that provide a safe space for you to continue your recovery journey. These homes offer a structured environment where you can build healthy habits and connect with others who are also in recovery.

Dual Diagnosis

Meth addiction often coexists with other mental health issues. Our dual diagnosis program addresses both addiction and any underlying mental health conditions simultaneously. By treating both, we aim to provide a more comprehensive and effective recovery plan, helping you achieve lasting sobriety and mental well-being.

Aftercare Support

Recovery doesn’t end after treatment. Our aftercare and alumni support program – one of few in the country – is designed to help you stay connected to the recovery community and maintain your progress. We offer ongoing counseling, support groups, and resources to help you navigate the challenges of continued sobriety and build a fulfilling, drug-free life.

What to Expect: A Day in Outpatient Treatment

A day in recovery is a step toward a healthier, more fulfilling life. But what is a day in outpatient treatment really like?

Here’s what a typical day in our outpatient program looks like, so that you have an idea of what to expect:

Morning Routine

You’ll arrive at our center in Santa Ana, CA and join a supportive community of peers. Your morning might start off with a group therapy session, where you can share your experiences and gain insights from others who understand what you’re going through.

Sessions and Activities

Throughout the day, you’ll take part in therapeutic activities designed to help you understand and overcome your addiction. These could include individual counseling, educational workshops, and other activities such as art therapy depending on your treatment plan. Each activity is designed to help you develop the tools necessary for a lasting recovery.

Personal Time

You’ll also have time between sessions to reflect and relax. You can use this time to work if needed, watch TV, play some ping pong, or simply rest. This balance of structured therapy and personal time allows you to process what you’ve learned, and apply it to your daily life.

Supportive Environment

As the day progresses, you’ll find yourself surrounded by staff members and peers who know your struggle. Whether it’s through group discussions, one-on-one sessions, or casual conversations with others, you’ll always have someone to turn to or lean on. Our facility does its best to foster a sense of belonging, and encourages you to stay committed to your recovery journey.

Weekly Activities

From jiu-jitsu and kickboxing classes to outings at Disneyland, baseball games, and more, you’ll have plenty to do at The Edge. New experiences are a cornerstone of treatment, allowing you to expand your horizons and reconnect with the world around you. We understand this deeply, and plan both weekly and weekend activities each month to keep your mind and body stimulated throughout recovery.
